Gameplay / Controls:
Gameplay is good. It is a real-time strategy game (RTS). Very smooth, and there are no real annoyances in the game that aren’t supposed to be. You know, some games have the tendency to have problems like bad radar or horrible warning signs or something of that sort. This doesn’t. It all flows together and fits.

The controls are good, it has a few advanced ones that I don’t really use, I see no reason why, and is very simple.

Graphics:
For an RTS of its time, the graphics are very good. Nice deaths and explosions. They use a lot of the same explosions for things like building destructions, but it doesn’t hamper with the game any. I like the sound, even if it is repetitive sometimes.

Plot:
The plot is very good, lots of twists and turns and unexpectedness. I like how they fit heroes into the game, I think it was one of the first to do so, so that was cool.

It is also nice you can play as three different species. They make it to where you pick up right where the last race left off, just with the different race. So that is a cool idea. Remember that when you are pounding the Humans or Zerg into oblivion.

Extra Stuff:
It does come with a Level Editor which is always a plus for me. It is very simple. Although if you want to make a Single Player level with triggers and whatnot, it is going to take some time and thinking to achieve it. You can also screw with the units abilities, speed, armor, etc. It is fun to make a battlecruiser with 1 health, a zergling picture and is very fast, with a name like “The Pink Panther”. A little fun never hurt anybody.

Overall:
If you’re an RTS fan, this is a must. It lays the groundwork for many other RTS’s and was one of the first, comes from the people who practically invented modern day RTS gaming and should be revered as such. Have fun kiddies.
